Waterdrawing by Simon Heijdens

Intricate ephemeral drawings in vibrant colour appear and disappear within a body of water held in glass. Using the physical characteristics of water and the way it holds and transfers light, Heijdens creates transient three-dimensional drawings in the middle of a volume of water. Short-lived generated organisms suddenly appear, slowly transform as they linger through the water, and finally fade away, forming an ever-evolving ecosystem. Waterdrawing continues a series Heijdens began in 2013, and was created especially for this first edition of Draw Art Fair.
